THEI is excited to release The Tennessee Moving Forward Guide, a comprehensive statewide resource to support Tennesseans transitioning from incarceration. The document outlines -- through written narrative and a detailed user-friendly directory -- resources for for people transitioning beyond incarceration across all regions in Tennessee, including resources for housing, health and mental-health services, food security, employment and career development, higher education, legal and advocacy support, and information about re-entry during COVID-19. The guide will live online, but also as a booklet that will be distributed in prisons across the state, both directly to individuals and also through programs and agencies.
"We are excited to release the Moving Forward Guide during National Second Chance Month. It is our hope this document will serve as an invaluable resource for justice involved individuals and the people and organizations that love and support them. We extend a special note of thanks to the Memphis Interfaith Coalition for Action and Hope (MICAH), the Education Justice Project (EJP), and ECMC Foundation for their support in compiling and disseminating the guide," expressed THEI Executive Director, Laura Ferguson Mimms.
